Hi! My name is Kristi Gedville and I will be your child's teacher for the 2016-2017 school year. This will be my 20th year teaching, 17th in first grade. I love first grade. It's an amazing year filled with growth. It's always exciting watching the progress the children make from August to June.
I earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from Illinois State University. I also earned a Master's Degree in Teaching and Leadership from Saint Xavier University. In addition to teaching school aged children, I have also taught adults at Benedictine University. I taught an Emergent Literacy course for teachers earning their reading specialist degrees.
In addition to teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family. My oldest, Allison, will be starting third grade this year. My youngest, Madison, will be starting kindergarten. They are definitely my entire world. We spend a lot of time playing with princesses, reading books, and swimming at Grandma's. This summer we had a 2 week vacation in Massachusetts. Most of it was spent at the beach either in Cape Cod or near Plymouth. We had a wonderful time.
You are the most important people in your child's life, and we need to work together for your child's benefit. With school and home working together, I know we can have a successful year.
I look forward to working with you to help your child have a happy and successful school year. This is just the beginning of the journey they will take to become successful lifelong learners.
